2011-2012 RULES

I Own Florida Champion- All participants must have a 2011-12 AAU Membership – purchase at www.aausports.org 

·         A Wrestler must win 6 of 7 IOF tournaments to qualify for the “IOF” Series Championship award, including the AAU state championship.  

·         Wrestlers must win at least 1 match at during a tournament to qualify for award. Being the only wrestler in your weight class does not qualify for the IOF. 

·         Wrestlers can enter multiple weight classes or age divisions, but must win one of them at each event. 

·         Only one entry will be allowed at the AAU State Championship on January 28^th, 2012. 

·         A wrestler that wins 6 of 7 tournaments and the AAU State Championship will be awarded the “I Own Florida” Trophy at the AAU State Championships on January 28^th, 2012.

Club/Team Grand Champion-Each club’s top 15 wrestlers at each tournament will earn points for the Club Grand Championship.  The points will be tallied each week.  At the state championship, the club with the highest total points from the series will be crowned AAU IOF Grand Champion. 

·         A wrestler’s points may only be counted once each week for their team.  

·         A team result roster must be turned into the pairing room director by the end of the tournament to confirm their team score. 

·         Wrestlers can only be affiliated with only 1 team during the series and must practice with that team on a regular basis. 

·         In order to participate, your club must be a registered AAU club and all wrestlers who score points for your club must be registered on your AAU Club roster with the AAU. 

·         No All Star Teams the day of the tournament. 

·         Points are scored as follows.  1^st place-5 points, 2^nd place-3 points, 3^rd place-2 points, 4^th place-1 point.

·         Tot – born in 2005 & since-35, 40, 45, 50, 55, HWT

·         Bantam – 2004 & 2003– 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 90, HWT

·         Midget – 2002 & 2001– 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 103, 112, 120, 130, HWT

·         Novice – 2000 & 1999– 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 120, 130, 140, HWT

·         Schoolboy – 1997 & 1998– 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 140, 150, 160, 180, HWT

·         Wrestlers must be enrolled in 8th grade or below.

·         Tournament directors may combine or modify weight classes: giving kids matches for experience.
